My little girl has a pretty bad cold and has been curled up on the couch all day. She did some homework and then took a nap in the afternoon. And after dinner, she watched "The Intern" with me and Allan. I hope she feels better soon!

Pop & Jazz Concert
Christina is in the Women's Choir at her school and tonight, they performed for parents, friends, students and teachers. There were 4 choirs performing and to me, the Women's Choir sounded the best.

Busy Girl
My girl is a busy girl this week; She had a doctor's apt today, a dinner fundraiser for school choir and a rehearsal for the Santa Clarita Concert Choir. Tomorrow is a regular day, but Wednesday, she has an optometrist apt to get fitting with contact lenses. Given that she starts school at 7:00AM and finishes at 5:00PM, she doesn't have time for anything else. But she loves it... All of it!

Shakesfest
As part of her Theatre class, Christina participated in "Shakesfest", a Theatre festival where all schools of the Foothill League perform scenes, monologues, and musical numbers. Christina performed in the musicals category. Her school prepared a mashup of 4 songs from "Something Rotten". She had so much fun and came home Friday night exhausted but happy. Her school's musical was awarded the rating of "Outstanding", the highest possible! Here are a few photos from the number:

Grandpa Borge
Had a chance to catch up with Grandpa Borge this weekend. He really enjoyed spending time with family and especially enjoyed looking at photos and videos of the kids. allan and I were surprised to see how bad his vision is. He needs a magnifying glass to look at pictures and needs to be really close to the screen to see. Even then, he still needs someone to point out the important stuff. We also had a chance to spend some time with Lief and Yvonne and Holy.

Wedding

Swim Time Changed
I just found out that the city has changed the time for Christina's swim workout starting in 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the new time doesn't work with her very busy schedule. So she will not be swimming this Spring. She's OK with that. Since her two swim friends decided to join Club, she is not very motivated! Which reinforces my theory that she is a "social butterfly" and only participates in sports to be with her friends.

Spent a good part of my morning at the doctor's office for my annual physical. It had been at least 5 years since I had a physical, so it took a little longer than usual. But everything looked good. I am supposed to see her again to review the results of my Pap Smear, blood test, etc.

No Surgery
I took Conan to see a veterinary ophthalmologist this afternoon. He always has what Christina calls "goopy and crusty" eyes and sometimes he wakes up with one eye completely shut and we have to clean it up for him to open it. Our regular vet thought it was caused by entropion, a condition where part of the eyelid is folded inward and requires surgery to fix it. She referred us to Dr. McNabb who did a full eye exam. Fortunately, it's not entropion and Conan will not need surgery. He has "chronic immune mediated conjunctivitis". He might need eye drops for the rest of his life, but we'll take that over surgery any day!
